About the role
Renky is building a trusted rental marketplace for Canada, starting in Metro Vancouver. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will ship high-impact product work across our Next.js app, CMS tooling, and integrations — with a bias toward clear UX, performance, and maintainable TypeScript.
You will partner closely with design and product to turn renter and landlord problems into polished features. We value engineers who communicate well, take ownership from idea to production, and care about the people using what we build.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, and ship full-stack features in Next.js, React, and TypeScript
- Improve search, listings, messaging, and landlord tooling for Canadian users
- Uphold code quality with pragmatic tests, reviews, and clear technical docs
- Collaborate with product and design on scoped, shippable iterations
- Help shape engineering practices as we grow the team
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong TypeScript and modern React experience
- Comfort with full-stack web delivery (APIs, auth, data modeling)
- Experience shipping consumer or marketplace products
- Excellent written communication in English
- Based in Canada (or able to work Canadian hours)
Nice to have
- Next.js App Router experience
- Supabase, Postgres, or similar BaaS familiarity
- i18n / multilingual product experience
- Interest in housing, proptech, or local marketplaces
